Chinese side Dalian Yifang must pay Spanish club Levante the full €11 million transfer in cash before the end of the month if they are complete the signing of Ghana winger Emmanuel Boateng.
With the transfer deadline in China set to close by the end of this month, Yifang must come up with the cash for the player, regarded by the Best Betting Sites for football as the star to improve the fortunes of the club.
The 22-year-old's move to the Chinese Super League club is on the brink of collapse after they failed to meet the financial conditions by Levante for Yifang to pay the full €11m transfer in cash.
Boateng underwent successful medical tests ahead of his move to the Blue Hawks last week in Madrid but the move has stalled because of the disagreement over the payment terms.
The Ghana international has now reverted to the La Liga club for training until the logistics have been rectified.
The Chinese Premier League club have settled on a fee of €11m for the Ghana international who will be on a three-season contract worth €3m-a-year.
Boateng will not sign the deal for the Chinese club until the standoff is cleared but with the deadline looming Levante are not keen on letting him go without their financial demands being met.
"Our guarantee is that either they pay cash or there will be no transaction," Levante president Quico Catalán revealed.
In China, for all football transfers above 7 million euros, clubs are taxed 100% which is proving prohibitive for the Chinese who must eventually pay €22m if they are to pay the full transfer sum at a go.
This legal requirement by the Chinese government, collapsed the club’s move for Napoli captain Hamsik after Dalian Yifang failed to guarantee the payment terms.
Levante paid €2.9 million to sign Boateng from Portuguese side Moreirense in 2017.
Boateng shot to the fame in Spanish football in the side's 5-4 win over Barcelona last term, with him bagging a hat-trick in the game.
In 2017, he joined Levante UD from Portuguese club Moreirense on a transfer fee around 2.9 million euros.
He scored eight goals with two assists in his 48 appearances for Levante UD during his stay.
