Rev Kojo Addai Kyenkyenhene played 14 years for Kotoko

A former manager of Ghanaian football club, Kumasi Asante Kotoko who doubles as a former Black Star player has called on football players to put the game first before money.

According to Rev. Kojo Addai Kyenkyenhene who is now a senior pastor with Harvesters Evangelistic Ministry, Bantama, Kumasi, things were different in his era with regards to players and how they handled their matches.

Speaking exclusively on “Otwa Mmere”, a radio preaching program aired on Metro FM in Kumasi, Rev. Kyenkyenhene indicated the playing body at the time exhibited high sense determination than it is in a modern day football.

“We were selfless and killed ourselves for the game. Our focus was not on money like it is now. Our determination was extremely high as we always sought to be on the top”, he told show host, Eric Nana Prekoh.

The former Black Stars player, however, indicated it is worrying to see players now making money their goals rather than goals.

He said it was time Ghanaian football players put their games first so as to raise high the Ghanaian flag on the international front.

Rev Kojo Addai Kyenkyenhene played 14 years for Kotoko and 10 years for the national side, after which he retired to become a Reverend Minister.
