Tony Baffoe insists he has no interest in becoming the GFA president
Confederation of African Football Deputy General Secretary in charge of football development Tony Baffoe has stated that he is not interested in becoming the Ghana Football Association President for now.
A new person must take charge of the GFA after the work of the Normalization Committee next year.
This development came when Kwesi Nyantakyi stepped down five months ago following allegations of corruption levelled against him.
Many have called on the former Ghana international who currently works as deputy General Secretary for CAF to consider vying for the GFA president.
But Mr Baffoe is not interested in the position at least for now.
“People have been asking me when I will be the next GFA president. I am not interested in becoming the next GFA president for now. I don’t know where Allah will take me in the next two or three years." He told Happy FM
"As at now, I am happy working for CAF . That’s not to say that I am turning my back on Ghana but right now, I am not interested in the role."
"It will be great to see an ex footballer becoming the GFA president but he must be prepared because the job won’t be easy."
"We need people like Abedi Pele, Yusif Chibsah and Sammy Kuffour.
They know football and they can contribute a lot to our football."
